Last month, IAF attended the CISAC General Assembly in Sofia, Bulgaria, marking its first participation since joining CISAC. The event offered a valuable opportunity to connect with existing members and engage with other organisations actively involved in the audiovisual sector.
IAF also took part in the meeting of CISAC’s Dramatic, Literary and Audiovisual Group, where international initiatives and projects were presented — including efforts to establish collective management organisations (CMOs) for audiovisual authors. These discussions highlighted the important work being done at a global level to support authors’ rights.
During the General Assembly, several insightful panels explored key topics such as artificial intelligence and protecting creators’ rights in the digital era. These sessions sparked meaningful conversations about how technology is reshaping the future of creativity and underscored the urgent need to adapt to the digital era with fairness and transparency.
Additionally, IAF attended the launch of CISAC’s first-ever Creators Day. The programme featured engaging panel discussions designed to bring together creators and experts to share experiences and address current challenges, including generative AI, cultural diversity, and opportunities in emerging markets. Creators Day was widely praised as a success, fostering a rich exchange of perspectives across creative industries and reaffirming the importance of a united voice to influence policy effectively.
IAF looks forward to building a closer partnership with CISAC to support and strengthen the voice of authors worldwide.
