The International Authors Forum (IAF) expresses its shock and sadness at the attack on Salman Rushdie in New York State last Friday.
IAF Chair Steering Committee, John Degen said “Writers around the world are shocked and sickened by the senseless violent attack against author Salman Rushdie. We are following news of his recovery closely, and we wish him and his family safety and healing.”
The international author community will work with colleagues around the world to safeguard freedom of speech and expression, as the drivers of creativity and cultural diversity. IAF will offer whatever support and solidarity we can. Our thoughts go out to Salman Rushdie’s family during this time.
