About us
What we do
Advocacy and Campaigning
IAF campaigns for authors worldwide, both at the international and national levels. Taking part in WIPO and UNESCO it ensures authors are heard at the international level and it supports authors with issues they face whether they are global or local.
Membership Engagement
IAF acts as an international platform, enabling its members to connect with each other develop their positions and receive support on authors' rights. IAF engages with its members by assisting them in their fight for better authors’ conditions in their respective countries and promoting their campaigns through the IAF newsletter, news page and social media.
Collaboration
IAF collaborates with organisations that work to represent authors rights and interests to drive campaigns at the international level. IAF works in partnership with UN bodies such as WIPO and UNESCO to ensure authors are considered in the agenda of cultural programs and policy.
Education/Knowledge Sharing
IAF works to create opportunities for knowledge sharing through means such as online events featuring experts discussing key issues for authors and supporting educational campaigns on authors rights and the importance of copyright. This is done both through member led efforts such as establishing and distributing the Ten Principles of Fair Contracts and larger partnerships such as the development of the WIPO for Creators Platform.
