IAF Regional Projects
IAF Latin America Network
The IAF Latin America Network is a regional working group, established within the IAF in 2019. Today, it brings together around twenty IAF member organisations from nine countries across the region.
The Network provides a platform for members to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and discuss the key challenges and opportunities facing authors in Latin America. It also encourages collaboration to strengthen authors' rights and promote effective copyright policies at national and regional levels.
Members meet regularly throughout the year to explore topics such as Public Lending Right (PLR), Artist's Resale Right (ARR), fair contracts, artificial intelligence, and other emerging issues, with contributions from experts across the IAF network.
The Network also plays an active role in raising awareness of authors' rights across the region. Working closely with its members, IAF participates in major regional book fairs in Panama, Mexico, Argentina, and Colombia, organising panel discussions, roundtables, and other events that foster dialogue on copyright, authors' rights, and the future of the creative industries.
IAF Caribbean Chapter
The Caribbean Chapter is a regional working group which brings together IAF member organisations, organisations working towards membership, and individuals committed to defending authors' rights and improving authors' livelihoods throughout the Caribbean region. It also promotes collaboration and solidarity among authors while encouraging the establishment and growth of authors' organisations in countries where collective representation is still developing.
Working alongside the Latina America Network, the Chapter hosts regular webinars, collaborates with cultural organisations across the Caribbean, and actively engages with the wider IAF network. It is also strengthening its presence at major regional literary and cultural events. Over the past year, the Chapter has participated in the CARICON Poetry Slam in Curaçao, Bocas Lit Fest in Trinidad and Tobago, the British Virgin Islands Lit Fest, and the St. Mary Literary Festival in Jamaica.
