The IAF has spoken at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) about the importance of the Artist’s Resale Right at the Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR). As of the 36th session of the SCCR, WIPO has committed to develop a task force on this issue. We would like to ask our members to make contact with their national delegation to WIPO to support it’s work with the goal of establishing the right internationally. What can your organisation do?
- Find out which government department would be responsible for the UN delegation at WIPO, such as a Ministry of Culture or Intellectual Property Office,
- Talk to them of the importance of the Artist’s Resale Right,
- Encourage them to sign up to it.
