The International Authors Forum (IAF) and The Regional Center For Book Development in Latin America (CERLALC) are delighted to announce that they have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish cooperation and joint strategies to developed projects and activities to promote and strengthen the protection for author´s rights in Latin American.
IAF’s objectives are to provide authors’ organizations worldwide with an international platform to exchange information, develop positions and provide support in authors’ rights matters. It was formed in 2011 and has over 70 member organisations representing more than 700,000 authors worldwide. IAF has a dedicated network of 15 organisations of authors – artists and writers – in Mexico, Central and South America and the Caribbean.
CERLARC is an intergovernmental organisation specialized in the field of reading, writing, libraries, book and copyright, which counts 21 members – 19 Hispanic and Lusophone countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. It was created through a joint initiative of UNESCO and Colombia with a Cooperation Agreement signed on 23 April 1971.
